Discraft Has, In Fact, Remembered Us! 05/14/2002
After seemingly losing our order, Discraft has contacted us. We need to do a slight alteration on the design—replace the buddha with Caesar holding a pizza—and then resubmit it. Once we do, we'll have the discs s-s-s-soon.

  Practices Have Resumed May 2002

Alright! With the weather finally breaking—and the squalls arriving two or three times daily—it is safe to announce twice per week practices as officially reinstated.

Practice times are Tuesdays @ 5:30 and Sundays @ 12:00, Hollidaysburg YMCA. Check your email frequently in case of inclement weather.

Caveat, Keeners! Instead of sending daily "let's play in five minutes" emails, try to make the scheduled practices. As Martha would say, "It's just good" if we get together in numbers.

  Shirts Are In 03/08/2002

After months of waiting, colors selected and scrapped, designs undergoing revision after revision, the...shirts...are...done!

Consult Nick to refresh your memory on how many you ordered and what the total damage is....

  Shirts Have Been Ordered 01/23/2002

After a loooooong design process, we have finally submitted the artwork and shirt order to the company that will produce them. Turnaround time is a week to ten days, so we won't have them for practice Saturday, but rest assured they are almost ready.

Check out the front and back designs here.

Shirt & Disc Design Almost Complete! 11/13/2001
Alright, DDoggers, we're almost ready for proper shirts and discs. We've been designing for a few weeks, and I think we finally stumbled on something good. We'll post the .gifs on the Yahoogroup Page soon, so get a YahooID, link it to your email address, and then check the Yahoogroups Photos page for the images. Once we've decided, we'll post them on this site for the world to enjoy.

Check you email for forthcoming questions regarding number of shirts, etc.

  Hucktober Tournament Recap 10/28/2001
First, Downward Dog would like to thank all the teams that made the trip to Hollidaysburg for our first-ever tournament. With only a week's preparation, I think we all came together for a really good afternoon of Ultimate. Despite freezing conditions.

Downward Dog held its own on the home pitch, luckily having numbers to allow for timely substitutions throughout the day. The first game was decided by timecap, with Downward Dog edging Juniata's Irish Elks 10-7. With the score a close 6-5 at the half, DDOG felt lucky to grind out the second half against a strong Juniata club.

Downward Dog's second match was against St. Francis University's Deep Friars. Many of the Deep Friars practice regularly with Downward Dog, so there was a high level of awareness about the Friars' style of play. The Friars are only in their first yeat at SFU, and that fact coupled with key Friar no-shows (due to "dehydration"), helped Downward Dog post an 11-0 win.

The final match put Downward Dog against the 2-0 Flood from UPJ. Downward Dog played a tough game, and with the Flood's limited subs (and then the loss of their subs entirely!), DDOG was able to record an 11-2 win.

Again, thanks to all the teams that made the trip and to all the DDOGGERS that helped make this tournament happen. Imagine what we can do with TWO weeks notice....

DDOG to Host Hucktober Tournament 10/23/2001
Downward Dog will be joined by the Deep Friars (St. Francis University), Irish Elks (Juniata College), and the Flood (UPJ), on Sunday for a four-team tournament.

We're hoping to slip this one in under the weather; already the snow is flying, but we hope that the forecast for Sunday will come through—high 40's and no precipitation.

A thank you to all of the teams that plan on participating. Check with your captains for times and locations.

Irish Elks Welcome the Dog 10/21/2001

Members of the Downward Dog club travelled to Juniata College to practice with the Irish Elks this past Sunday.

The Elks were recovering from a tournament at Shippensburg where they went 1-4, but they were gracious enough to invite us to practice despite brush burns and sore limbs.

There was some good play and we plan on setting something up soon when Downward Dog can post a full side for competition.

Thanks much to the Irish Elks for a great time.

  DDOG Makes Contact 10/18/2001
Nick and Josh have been in contact with both UPJ and Juniata's college club teams and scrimmages are being planned.

Email the group so we know what weekends are available.

Also, we're planning on making the trip to a Juniata practive on Sunday, October 21. Plan on meeting for pickup at noon, and then we'll continue on to Juniata afterward.

  Yahoogroup Expanded 10/12/2001
I discovered some added features of the Downward Dog yahoogroup page, including a calendar of events. I added the current pickup schedule.

Add any additional events you would like, especially Deep Friar games, etc.

In order to see the homepage, you must create a YahooID (free), and then link your YahooID to your email address.

Cheers.

Website Development Begins

10/08/2001
DDOG has secured its own domain name and is currently borrowing server space from friends at vaporbros.com.

The site is obviously under development, but with the weather turning and pickup liable to be cancelled or changed at a moment's notice, we went ahead and put up this "work in progress" so we can hopefully communicate a little easier.

Any ddoggers with ideas and suggestions for the site are encouraged to tell Nick or Josh, or use the email link on the Contact page.

Also, use the email link to submit your own email address so you can be added to the group list.

See you on the pitch.
